Sasha Svirsky

Sasha Svirsky was born on July 9, 1980, in Soviet Runo village, Stavropol area, USSR. He graduated as a painter and is a self-taught animator. He began working as an independent animation film director in 2008. He explores the possibilities of digital animation, revising it as an entertainment and applied medium. He uses animation as an artist’s tool, unlocking the potential for visual experiments. He has been working in collaboration with his partner and wife, Nadya Svirskaia, from 2013 on. Since 2022, they have been based in Berlin. Unidentified Nonflying Objects (UNO) is his first film in German language.
