Maarten van Gageldonk is an animation scholar, festival organizer and educator from the Netherlands. He graduated with honors from Radboud University in 2010 and holds a doctorate in American literature (2016) from the same university. He co-edited the book Animation and Memory, published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2020. He joined KLIK Amsterdam Animation Festival in 2015. He has since been the Head of Program of Kaboom Animation Festival, held annually in Utrecht, Amsterdam and online. He is also department chair of the Master of Animation at Avans Professional Masters in Den Bosch, the only MA program in animation in the Netherlands. His interests are in animation history, narrative and short film curation.
