Michaela Müller's animated film Miramare won the Best Swiss award at this year's edition of Fantoche International Animation Film Festival, which took place in Baden, Switzerland, 7-12 September 2010.
Michaela Müller comes from Switzerland but she studied in Zagreb at the Academy of Fine Arts (Department of Animation and New Media) and the film Miramare was her final thesis work at the Academy.
This year the film was screened at the Cannes Film Festival and in the official selection of Annecy International Film Festival. It was produced by the Academy of Fine Arts and co-produced by Michaela Müller.
The festival came to a close with the awards ceremony and the success of the young director was the crown of a rich presentation of Croatian animation at this year's edition of the festival.
Namely, a retrospective of Croatian animation was presented as a part of the side program Terra Incognita in three programs: The Golden Age, Great Achievements and New Generation. The overview of Croatian animation was put together by a famous Croatian animator Danijel Šuljić. In addition, students' works from the Department of Animation and New Media were presented.
