JELENA POPOVIĆ: THE ROLE OF A CREATIVE PRODUCER

Jelena Popović fled her native war-torn Sarajevo in 1992 and immigrated to Canada, where she graduated with a B.A. in Film Production. She forged her skills in production of conventional, interactive and hybrid documentary and animation films, directed the documentary The Knights of Orlando and edited Patrick Doyon’s Oscar-nominated short Sunday, as well as several editions of Hothouse, the National Film Board of Canada’s acclaimed animation mentorship. Producer at the NFB English Program Animation Studio since January 2014, Jelena has produced and coproduced a dozen multi-awarded films, including Hedgehog’s Home, Manivald, Caterpillarplasty, Turbine, I’m OK, Meneath: The Hidden Island of Ethics.
