Synopsis
Pink stories comprises of five interconnected stories. The voices of a woman and a girl narrate/sing mantras about female heritage, travelling far, chores, household appliances and made up characters such as the sad galloping mare, a Baba Yaga, dirty socks on their psychedelic voyages, a house on a suitcase, etc.
Ivana Ognjanovac (Vukovar, 1983) got her MA in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. She also studied at Universitatea de Arta si Design – Cluj-Napoca in Romania. Since 1999 she has exhibited her work on group and independent exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. in 2012 she won first prize at the 2. Autoportrait Triennale held at the Prica Gallery, and in 2014 she took part in the 22nd 21C ICAA Seoul International Art Festival in South Korea. Most of her works have been realised with the help of artist residences abroad. She has been a member of HDLU since 2008 and of HZSU since 2019. Since 2018, she’s worked as an artist duo alongside collaborator Mare Šuljak. She lives and works in Zagreb.
Mare Šuljak is a multimedia artist from Dubrovnik, Croatia. She holds an MA in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. She is a member of the Croatian Association of Fine Artists (HDLU) and the Croatian Freelance Artists Association (HZSU). Her work was presented at numerous solo and group exhibitions, as well as film festivals in Croatia and abroad.
