Alex Dudok de Wit is an animation journalist. His writing has appeared in Sight & Sound, Vulture, Little White Lies, Skwigly, ASIFA Magazine and Cartoon Brew, where he was formerly Deputy Editor. Alex’s first book BFI Film Classics: Grave of the Fireflies, a critical study of Isao Takahata’s classic wartime drama, was published by Bloomsbury in 2021. He has also written and narrated a documentary for the BBC about British puppet animation. His next project is a translation of Hayao Miyazaki’s graphic novel Shuna’s Journey.
