Synopsis
In a school corridor, Alphonse catches up with a girl who suddenly faints in front of him. He tries to kiss her stupidly, but Marco shows up and makes a fool out of him. Six months later, it’s summer. Alphonse is excited at the idea of spending the month of August alone, without his roommate.
Jean-Luc Greco and Catherine Buffat first met at the Folimage studio in the 1990s, they both took their first steps in the world of animated filmmaking. As artists, they both discovered a shared universe and similar influences. In 1998, they created their first short film, La Bouche cousue (Keeping Mum). The duo skillfully navigates between different techniques, from puppetry to cut-out animation.
In 1983, Jean-Luc Greco (1965) entered the Graphic Design Department of the Fine Arts Academy of Valence. After his studies, he started to work at Folimage Studio as a designer of sets and puppets. He discovered various animation techniques and became an inbetweener in 1991. He published comics, children's books and illustrations, under the pen name of Spata. He exhibited at the International Children’s Book Fair in Bologna, at the Itabashi Museum in Tokyo and at Valence’s theatre.
