Nino Kovačić is a freelancer on film and media-based cultural projects. He holds an MA in Comparative Literature and History from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb and in Comparative History from the Central European University in Budapest. A long-time associate of film festivals as a programmer and programme and event coordinator, he has worked with Animafest, ZagrebDox, Zagreb Film Festival, 25 FPS Festival, DHF etc. At Animafest, in addition to Children and Youth Competition preselection, he hosts Q&A’s and coordinates the Animafest Scanner symposium. A member of the Croatian Film Critics Association and FIPRESCI, he writes for relevant film and cultural media. A festival jury member in Jerusalem, Krakow, Motovun, Wiesbaden and elsewhere. As a film educator, he has organised and held many film analysis workshops, mainly for children and young adults as part of the Children Meet Art association.
