Margit Antauer (Zagreb, 1950) attended elementary and high school (social sciences) in Varaždin and later studied English and German at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. In 1974 she started working as a producer at Koncertna direkcija Zagreb, where she worked with a brief break (1990-1991) until retirement in 2015. Between 1992 and 2006 she was the event office manager at Koncertna direkcija Zagreb and the chief organiser of Animafest, and in 2004 and 2006 she independently designed this world-renowned animation festival. Ms Antauer took part in selection committees and juries of many international animation festivals and won the annual award of the ASIFA international animation association for her overall contribution to the development of the art of animation. For the 30th birthday of the World Festival of Animated Film she edited an issue Priručnik za sjećanje, covering the festivals from its first 1972 edition to 2002. Since 2015 she has been the President of Animafest Council.
