Synopsis


In the centre of a freezing, misty lake, a struggling writer’s solitary fishing trip is disrupted by a strange creature from the bottom of a whiskey bottle. Inspired by the life of Sterling Hayden.

Joel Best


Joel Best is an Australian born 3D Artist and Filmmaker. A passionate character artist, Joel’s interest in all things 3D skyrocketed during his 4 years at the University of Technology Sydney, where he recently graduated with honours. Joel has worked as an artist at Sydney based animation house Mighty Nice, where he worked on the characters for the hit kids TV series Bottersnikes and Gumbles, as well as various commercials. During this time Joel also made his own 3d short-film Cookin’ with Fire, which has gone to over 15 festivals around the world. 

 

Alexander Jeremy


Alex Jeremy is a Sydney born Animator and Filmmaker. After enrolling to study animation at UTS, Alex’s interest in animation and filmmaking grew rapidly – in two years he was working at Unknown Worlds Entertainment in San Francisco as an animator on the popular underwater survival game Subnautica. Before graduating Alex also worked in UTS as an assistant teacher and private tutor, as well as an Animator at Mighty Nice Studios. The Albatross is his animated short debut.

 

Alex Karonis


Alex Karonis is a French born, Australian character animator who specializes in 3D performance animation. He is a recent graduate of the University of Technology Sydney, where he graduated with Honours. During his study he specialised in character animation, taking the lead on the popular music video With Good Reason for renowned Australian artist Reg Mombassa after working on the Sydney Vivid Light Show festival.
