Darko Masnec (1985, Celje, Slovenia) graduated from the Faculty of Education (Department of Visual Arts) in Maribor in 2009 and in 2012 completed his MA studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, Department of Animation and New Media. In 2017 he obtained a PhD degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb with the thesis “The Zagreb School of Animated Film: Art and Market Practices in the Context of Videogames”. He has worked as an animator on a few short animated film projects and published several articles on the topic of animation and videogames. He regularly cooperates with Animafest and other festivals. He currently works as an assistant professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb.
