On Tuesday, 23 May at 8pm, the media façade of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Novi Zagreb will begin screening three-channel site-specific animations – Animafest 2017 first competition – Animation goes MSU! The programme takes place every evening until 10 June, however Animafest invites you to take an evening walk in Novi Zagreb on Tuesday to celebrate its opening. See you in Većeslav Holjevac Street, with the best view on the media façade.
Nineteen works from 12 countries are selected, and among the chosen ones are many 'returning' authors, who have found the best way to adapt to the specific demands of this open-air animation format thanks to many years of collaboration between Animafest and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MSU). The works were selected by Leila Topić, an MSU senior curator, and Daniel Šuljić, Animafest's artistic director. The finest piece will be awarded a festival statue and a solo three-week screening on the MSU façade in February and March 2018.
