Synopsis

Political Prisoners is the 13th edition of micro-animations by Animators Against War. We launched the project on 24. 2. 2022. to speak out against Russia’s aggression toward Ukraine through animation. Our international collective includes artists with Russian roots and beyond. Some members still reside in Russia, so we keep their identities anonymous for safety. This edition highlights the stories of Russia's political prisoners - activists and ordinary people who were severely punished for minor acts of protest or simply for expressing their opinion in a state ruled by dictatorship.
