Masterclass Bill Plympton

In this masterclass, Bill will examine his career in animation and discuss the creative inspirations behind his films and also how he has managed to survive as an independent animator in an industry run by corporate studios. He will give a drawing demonstration and screen several of his short films, along with the trailer for his most recent animated feature, Slide, which was inspired by growing up in the logging forests of Oregon, his father's love of country music (Hank Williams, Patsy Cline), his love for cowboy culture and methodology, and his ambition to become a slide guitarist. Bill will also draw and autograph sketches for all attendees after the presentation.
