Nikica Gilić, a professor from the University of Zagreb, published a book on modernism in cinema, providing a broad insight into national and international modernism, including the problem of postmodernism. He approaches to cinema in the broadest sense, covering animation. A special chapter is dedicated to animation from Zagreb, from classics to contemporaries, and the cover of the book features a visual from the contemporary anidoc classic A Cat is Always Female. He offers examples from national and international animation aside with examples from fiction, documentary and experimental modernism and postmodernism.
