Synopsis

Thirteen-year-old Varka lives in a shoemaker’s home where she performs the duties of nanny and housemaid. Varka’s only wish is to get some sleep.

Igor Voloshin

Igor Voloshin was born and raised in Sevastopol. He graduated from the Yaroslavl State Theatre Institute in 1998 and from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in 2000. His debut documentary film Bitch was awarded best debut at IDFA. He then began directing live action. He was participant and jury member at A-list film festivals: Berlinale, Karlovy Vary, Busan, AFI. He was creator of cult-favorite Russian television series and winner of the Kinotavr, the Russian Film and Television Producers Association Award, and TEFI.
