Synopsis


Ioannina, Souther Balkans, 1808. What can a humble florist in love do to win the heart of a Pasha's favourite? An ancient Ottoman fairy tale tells the story of a forbidden love, made of patience, silence and the help of a heron.

 

Thomas Kunstler


Thomas Künstler (Rome, 1991) is an Italian director and stop-motion animator who currently lives and works in Athens. He received his degree in film production in 2015 at the University for the Creative Arts (Farnham, UK). His work is usually inspired by Greek music and culture. His recent stop-motion short Pink Mountain was nominated for Best Short Animation at the Hellenic Film Academy Awards and has been invited to more than 60 film festivals including the Oscar-qualifying Cinanima, Animasyros and Animateka. In collaboration with different festivals, he leads animation workshops in Greece and abroad. He is also a Berlinale Talents Alumni.  Thomas is currently developing his new stop-motion short Endless Hole with production company StudioBauhaus.
