Synopsis


This animation thematizes a dream that you can’t wake up from. Mubi (夢寐) means dreams you have whilst you are asleep in Japanese. Shakuya mubi (夙夜夢寐) is a four character idiom. It means dreams you have even if you are awake. A young man endures conflict, rapture and anguish. And he will find out why he cannot leave his dream.

Tomoe Obayashi was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1997. He graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Graphic Design in 2020.
