Synopsis
A contemplative journey in three parts that follow a mute poet named “This Person”. A dreamy stream of images, lightly illustrates meditations This Person has on notions of familiarity, language, impermanence and the strangeness of everything.
Rana Ashraf is a self-taught visual artist, born and based in Cairo. Her work moves between illustration, text-works and analog photography. She had two international exhibitions, one in Dakar’s biennale, Senegal and another in Cairo’s OFF biennale in 2018. She’s an amateur poet, a performer and an aspiring filmmaker and writer. She formally studied public governance and is currently working in a Community Empowerment project for Refugees in Egypt. She participated in numerous workshops, projects, creative labs and performances in Cairo.
