Synopsis
In Kyoto, it is in the middle of summer and the O-Bon festival is approaching. Everyone eagerly awaits this annual event, because it is well known that it makes wishes come true. Most people want wealth, beauty and health. Except Nashi, a homeless man who pollutes the air with his body odour to the point of becoming more and more of a public hazard. His only real wish is to bathe in a public bath.
Jenay Vogel (1986, Ludwigsburg, Germany) studied Film, French and History of Art at the University of Mainz (2007-08) and Japanese painting at Kyoto Saga University of Art (2009-11). In 2014 she obtained a BA degree in 2D Animation from HSLU (Hochschule Luzern, Design & Kunst), and in 2016 she continued her studies at HSLU as an MA student of Film.
