Marco Arruda graduated in Visual Arts at UFRGS. He advanced his diverse set of skills in drawing, video and animation through assorted academic projects. His end of course project turned into his first short film called Antitreiler (2008), which won two awards at Granimado festival. He participated in the films O Limpador de Chaminés, Nave Mãe, Propriedades de uma Poltrona, Céu, inferno e outras partes do corpo, Castillo y el Armado, A pequena vendedora de fósforos, A um Palmo do Nariz, including the award-winning feature film Até que a sbórnia nos separe. In 2019, Marco co-directed the award-winning feature film A Cidade dos Piratas, produced at Otto Desenhos Animados.
