Synopsis

Souvenir Souvenir is my most complicated film. It took me 10 years to achieve this thing. It’s about my relationship with my grandfather who was a soldier during the war between France and Algeria.

Bastien Dubois

Bastien Dubois (1983, France) obtained a degree in CGI Directing from Supinfocom Rubika in Valenciennes in 2006. Bastien is a keen traveller; the idea of making an animated travelogue came to him after having hitch-hiked from the north of France to Istanbul. His first independent film, Madagascar, a Journey Diary, was very well received and screened at more than 200 international film festivals, including Sundance. The film garnered an Oscar nomination in 2011. In 2012, he directed Faces From Places, a TV series of 20 animated three-minute travelogues featuring various countries across the world. In 2012, he released Cargo Cult, an animated short film set in Papua New Guinea during World War II.
