I think my painted coats are like animated objects that can move around the world - walking down the street, sitting in the bar, walking out through the doors of the building, of the car... Every painted coat is unique, like no other; a real artwork you can wear or simply hang on the wall. (S. P.) Inspired by the eternal fountain of visual codes of popular culture, primarily comic books, street art, colourful world of commercials, as well as media signs and different trash, together with idiosyncratic vegetal imagery borrowed from her own canvases and films, as well as from famous works of art, Suzan Pitt creates so-called painted coats/jackets she defines as a series of moving images carried by the person wearing them as a chain of powerful visual associations.
