Synopsis
In a swift moving dance dots, squares, rings, groups of arrow-like triangles, circular forms, zig-zag and wave-formed lines shift their size, position and colors, exploring the connections of music, colour and form. The result is a visual representation of abstract music, lively and spirited in spite of its link to a dance composed to sweat out the poisons of a spider bite. Painted and photographed frame by frame, Tarantella(1940) is a five-minute colour film animated from more than seven thousand drawings and set to original piano music performed by Edwin Gerschefski.
