Synopsis

A mousetrap snaps shut. A dusty town square awakens. A group of men debate how to kill the animal in the little box – each trying to outdo the others’ increasingly sadistic fantasies. Until a stranger suggests letting the creature loose. A voice of reason? Or the sickest manipulator of them all?

Malaeke Farhangadib

Malaeke Farhangadib was born in Tehran, Iran. She graduated from the Fine Art Faculty, University of Tehran, with a bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication. She continued her studies and got a master’s degree in Animation at the same faculty. After that, she travelled to Germany to study Animation at the Institute of Animation, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. At the beginning of the lateral entry course, her third-year project Filmfabrik was selected to become the ITFS Trailer 2015. In addition to several other collaborations and external funded projects like Ich kenne ein Tier, in 2016 she developed and animated two animated films on behalf of the Haus der Geschichte in celebration of the 150th birthday of Carl Laemmle.
