Synopsis
During a harsh winter, a river by the house of two cousins freezes over. In the cold wind, their relationship grows bitter, reaching its limits.
David Doutel (1983, Porto) graduated in sound and image at the University School of Arts, with extensive training in animation. For the last 15 years he has developed his work in the field of independent animation short films, both as director, animator and producer. Both in artistic and production departments he has contributed to the creation of several award-winning short-films from various directors that have been regularly selected to international film festivals. Has developed his career alongside with Vasco Sá with whom he shares the experience of direction on four short animated films, The Shoemaker, Fuligem, Augur. He is one of the founders of BAP-Animation Studio, where he works as a director and producer.
Vasco Sá (1979, Porto) with rooted ancestry in the northern mountainous region of Portugal, he spent his first eighteen years of life at Trás-os-Montes (Behind-the-Mountains), before he moved to Porto, where he got his Master's degree in Sound and Image from the School of Arts (UCP). It is in this context that he meets David Doutel, with whom he has shared several projects awarded nationally and internationally, namely the film directing of the shorts: The Shoemaker (2011), Soot (2014), Augur (2018). Since 2011 he has been collaborating with the production company Bando à Parte, where he has integrated in the team of multiple films of different authors, both in the artistic and production departments. He is one of the founders of BAP-Animation Studio, where he works as a director and producer, together with David Doutel.
