Pedro Rivero (Bilbao, 1969) is producer, director and screenwriter of the animated movies Psiconautas, Los Niños Olvidados (Goya Award 2017 and nominated for the EFA Awards), La Crisis Carnívora (2007), and the animated short film Birdboy (Goya Award 2012). He is also screenwriter for several animated series for TV and the animated movie Goomer (Goya Award 1999). Rivero is artistic director of ANIMAKOM FEST – Bilbao International Animation Community Festival and jury member for several film festivals including Anibar (Peja, Kosovo), Animasivo (Mexico), Animated Dreams (Tallinn, Estonia), Animatou (Geneva, Switzerland), Fredrikstad (Norway), KDIAF (Taipei, Taiwan) and Stuttgart (Germany). He is teaching screenwriting and storytelling in several schools and academies in the Basque Country. President of the Basque Screenwriters’ Guild from 2002 to 2008, and author of theatrical plays and comic books.
