Nicolas Rolland studied drawing at the Émile Cohl School in Lyon, where he graduated with his film Ira Deae. He has also graduated from La Poudrière. He mainly works in illustration and 2D animation for film, television or commissioned projects for theatre or music festivals. He lives in Marseille.
