Synopsis
The Climate is a frame-to-frame animation fully consisting of images registered by a regular scanner, 200 of them, to be precise. Abstract compositions reminiscent of X-rays are in fact everyday objects like a glass, a knife, a bag, broken glass, Christmas baubles, beads, all lined on a scanner, moved, shifted and lit in different ways to create a new, at first unrecognisable image.
M_1300 is an art collective consisting of Maja Blažek and Marita Stanić, two former students of the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts, working together since 2012. Their idiosyncratic expression includes different media, mostly mixed media – painting, print, installation, video, and what is common to all their works is the use of collaging, assemblage. Some of the exhibitions they took part in: Erste – Fragments, Neue Kroatische Kunst, Antisalon, Transform – Thessaloniki, solo show "Is it Medicine Or Social Skill" at Siva Galerija, and in 2014 they also participated in Animation Goes MSU with Shadowplay.
