Synopsis
Song of a Toad is the story about a stressed out human being who is carrying his unloved childhood right on his head – an old choleric toad. As a prisoner of his own grown-up situation, he tries to ignore this grumpy childhood talking from above, but one day he is confronted with something he almost forgot.
Kariem Saleh was born in Osterode am Harz, Germany in 1986. After finishing high-school he participated in the summer programme of the well known USC School of Cinematic Arts and worked as an intern at Stan Winston Studios in Los Angeles. Back in Germany, he became a trainee at Rise Visual Effects Berlin. He began studying animation and visual effects at the German Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, from which he graduated in 2015. Here he produced several stop-motion and computer animated shorts, as well as live action films. Alongside studying, he became a character animator and visual effects artist on international feature film productions. Today Kariem works as a director and filmmaker.
