Synopsis
A judicial thriller that takes us into a fascinating visual universe where Sabogal, lawyer and human rights defender, investigates several crimes against humanity in modern Colombia. With the country in crisis, the protagonist is in constant danger and fights relentlessly, almost obsessively, for justice.
Juan José Lozano is a screenwriter and director born in Colombia in 1971. He finished cinema studies at the National University in Bogota. Since 1998 Juan lives and works between Colombia and Switzerland. He is an author and director of documentary films on human rights, such as Impunity or Unwanted Witness, released in theatres in France and Switzerland, and selected for festivals like Toronto, Berlin, Locarno, and IDFA in Amsterdam. In 2013, he published his first novel in Spanish, Aquí no pasa nada.
Sergio Mejía is a Colombian photographer and CG animator. He studied filmmaking at the National University of Colombia, character animation at Image Campus in Buenos Aires (Argentina), and at AnymationGym (Uruguay). At the beginning of his career he directed many documentaries and worked as a 3D animator for many public TV programs. He has worked as a cinematographer for several international documentaries and live action short films. Mejía currently runs 3da2 Animation Studio in Bogotá. Since 2007 he has written and directed ten short films. One of those is Animalario (2012), officially selected for more than thirty international animation festivals, including Hiroshima and Animamundi.
