Synopsis
Hair is said to be the crown of beauty... but in this case, it’s more of a thorn-crown. In a small town with its own fashion-icon lives a girl, plagued by her own unfortunate hair. It keeps preventing her to live a normal life and she can’t seem to find any way to win this fight. Or?
While having studied at grammar school, the admiration for animation unexpectedly led Martina Frajštáková to the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Bratislava – Department of Animation (2007). In 2015 she obtained the doctoral degree. The short film Balloon Girl is part of her dissertation work, which tried to explore the influence of Japanese animated culture. The author focuses her work on hand-drawn/2D animation which could be seen in films Blue Tiger and Tiger Fight. She’s currently a freelancer, working on small projects, pop-culture webcomics for fun and a possible own original comic in the future.
