Synopsis

Alice's summer at her grandpa's takes an unexpected turn. Obsessed with a butterfly-catching video game, she's oblivious to the world around, as well as her entomologist grandpa's interest in protecting endangered butterflies. In a powerful thunderstorm, her wonder for reality awakens, and their bond deepens.

Ester Kasalová is a FAMU master's student specializing in 2D animation and family storytelling. Her work often delves into the themes of intergenerational relationships and exploration of reality. She has created anidoc When I Grow Up (2021) and her bachelor film World I Live In (2024), with her master's film in progress.
