Synopsis
A cold winter day. Two men, a porter and his master, arrive at a frozen lake which they need to cross. Neither wants to go first. So they both try every trick to let the other one go ahead. During their struggle to stay behind the other, they even forget about the fact that they belong to different classes. Drawn animation, ink on paper.
Raimund Krumme is an independent animation filmmaker who also directs commercials for the American and Japanese market. His animated shorts Ropedancers, Spectators, Crossroads, Passage and The Message have won many international awards including the Prix du Jury in Annecy, the state film prize Filmband in Gold (Bonn), Silver Dragon (Cracow) and Grand Prix for animation (Montreal). His films and drawings were exhibited in galleries and institutions worldwide. He taught at the University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, was Full-Time-Faculty at the California Institute of Art and since 2006 he is Faculty of the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. He also worked at the research department of the Institut National de l'Audiovisuel in Paris.
