An old lady feels alienated from modern city life, but when she embarks on a magical dreamlike journey, she finds wonder and a newfound appreciation for the place she lives in. Waldeinsamkeitdescribes the feeling of spiritual connection one can experience when enjoying solitude in the forest.

Silvana Roth

Silvana Roth is a German 2D animator and illustrator who moved to Scotland in 2017. Having recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in animation from Edinburgh College of Art, Silvana has a passion for character animation, production design and compositing. She loves creating textural and whimsical animations, preferably hand-drawn frame by frame. In her work she explores themes of environmentalism, mental health, human connection and spirituality. When she is not hunched over a lightbox or sketching her surroundings, you can find her frolicking in the forest or planning her next road trip.
