Synopsis
This film is based on the famous book of Miroslav Krleža, The Ballads of Petrica Kerempuh. The story follows the most important parts of Krleža's book, accompanied by the original verses in kajkavian dialect. The grotesque appearance of Bourek's figures expresses the tragic dimensions of Krleža's feeling for the past, as frightful visions of blood, fire and fog sweep over the territory of Croatia during the wars against the Turks. Strong, turbulent mass movements represent a new and unique attempt in Yugoslav cartoons.
