Synopsis
Giallo a Milano, a 3-episode animation, is part of a movie of the same name on Milanese Chinatown. The storyboard was based on pictures collected by Stefano Basso, a specialist in Chinese art, and Daniele Cologna’s photographs, a Sinologist close to the Chinese community in Milan.
Sergio Basso graduated in Eastern Languages and Literature and Humanities, attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome and the Academy of Dramatic Art in Moscow. He was assistant director and dialogue writer in Gianni Amelio’s La stella che non c’è. He collaborated with ONU, NOKIA, Il Corriere della Sera, Il Sole 24 ore, SKIRA, Istituto dei Beni Culturali of Emilia Romagna. He is a member of the European Documentary Network. He directed 19 e 72, (2012), Il Viaggio di Gesù, (2007), Quando Capita di Perdersi (2005).
Lorenzo Latrofa (1977, Rome) graduated in Architecture, and then Animation from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. He has been working with La Testuggine, a graphics and animation studio, since 1999.
