Synopsis
When did you last talk with your father? Will you ever ask him about those things that hurt you?
Ivan Bogdanov (1973) and Vessela Dantcheva (1975) are a team of authors working together for the past 15 years. Both graduates of the Willem de Kooning Academy of Art in Rotterdam in 2002, they work as directors, animators and illustrators. They have made countless short animated films and commercial projects. In 2004 they founded the animation studio FinFilm and in 2008 the Compote Collective production company, located in Sofia. The films they did together, especially Father (2012) and Anna Blume (2009), screened at many festivals and earned them numerous awards and honours.
Moritz Mayerhofer is a filmmaker based in Berlin. His animated films include Urs, Father and Amen! He co-founded the animation studio studioNICE and currently develops his first animated feature film.
Asparuh Petrov (1981) developed a passion for animation after he graduated from the High School of Applied Arts in Trojan in 1999. Until 2007 he worked as a motion designer, creating TV idents for several Bulgarian televisions. Since 2007 he has worked as a freelance animation director, and has been creating his own animation projects. Asparuh is one of the lead directors of Compote Collective productions.
Veljko Popović (1979) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, Department of Painting, in 2003. He is the co-founder of Prime Render animation studio. Since 2012, he teaches animation at the Arts Academy in Split. His films have been screened and awarded at many world festivals. He was a member of the jury at numerous film festivals.
Rositsa Raleva (1979) graduated from the Fine Arts Academy in Sofia in 2001. Since her graduation she has been working as a graphic designer and art director at several advertising agencies. In the meantime she continues to work as a freelancer creating illustrations, corporate identity, posters and T-shirt design (Dushman trademark, British Airways, Jaguar, ING, Cosmopolitan, Finlandia vodka, etc.)
Dmitry Yagodin (1979) was born in Moscow, Russian Federation. He studied animation at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art in Sofia, Bulgaria. He works as a freelance artist and independent director and animator.
