Synopsis
The adventures of a bird which, when winter approaches, has to fly to warmer climates. This film has received more than 20 international awards, among others, Best Short at the Berlin Festival.
Youri Tcherenkov (1961, Simferopol, Crimea) studied at the Fine Arts Institute in his hometown for 5 years then taught art at Jevpatoria’s Fine Arts Institute for 2 years. In 1989 he entered the Moscow Film School, with teachers as Youri Norstein. In 1993 he realized A Bag, his first short film. His second one La grande migration (1995) received no less than 22 international grand prizes, including the prize for best animation film in Berlin in 1997. Since 1997, he has been collaborating with Folimage on many projects, including La prophétie des grenouilles (2002), a full-length film by Jacques-Rémy Girerd, Mia et le Migou (2003), and Tante Hilda! (2007). At the same time, he realized his third personal short film, Moscou, and he collaborated in his turn with Zoia Trofimova in 1999 on the direction of her short film, Le trop petit prince. In 2004 he realized Le chat Bayoun.
