Synopsis

In her video works, Veronika Schubert combines electronic with hand-made techniques. The passionate relationship with language is visible in almost all of her works. Thriller agents are the focus of the cartoon Ink Eraser. The strong reduction of communication is expressed through surreal sequences of platitudes and empty phrases. The essential features of TV investigation work were extracted and visually transformed into a special drawing technique with ink and a removal pen.

Veronika Schubert

Veronika Schubert (1981) studied visual design at the Art University in Linz, mentored by professors A. Van der Straeten and H. Lachmayer. She graduated in 2005. After fellowships in the Czech Republic and Italy, she returned to Austria and dedicated herself to further education in the field of animation and textile. In 2009 she was employed by the Austrian National Library. She lives and works in Vienna.
