Synopsis
Mamori takes its title from a place in the Amazon forest. Lemieux tried to capture the textures of tropical vegetation and its various transformations according to the phenomena of light. The film’s soundtrack is by Francisco López.
Karl Lemieux studied cinema at the Concordia University. He created shorts Motion of Light (2004), Western Sunburn (2007) and Passage (2008). With Daichi Saito he co-founded Double Negative, a collective in Montreal focusing on the production and screening of experimental film. He worked on several musical and performance-based live screenings.
