Olivier Cotte has studied classical dance, music and painting. He has worked for movies and video as a computer artist, FX supervisor, and director from 1987 to 2002. His works included features in collaboration with, notably, Roman Polanski, Costa Gavras and Leos Carax. He has written over 10 books on animated film, included a worldwide encyclopaedia Il était une fois le dessin animé and a book about the Oscars winners Secrets of Oscar-winning Animation: Behind the scenes of 13 classic short animations, several monographs, and has collaborated to the B is for Bordo. He works for festivals, cinematheques, writes for magazines and teaches at the Gobelins school and around the world. He’s also a graphic novel scriptwriter.
