As part of the program innovations, CINEMA FOR THE EAR will show three films of the paramount  importance for the animated film and pop culture: YELLOW SUBMARINE (1968) by GEORGE DUNNING is a psychedelic film with specific animations and hypnotic, surreal images accompanying the music of mega-popular Liverpool band THE BEATLES, PINK FLOYD - THE WALL (1982) by ALAN PARKER with the human alienation and isolation issue is more relevant than ever, featuring a pure classic of pop culture - fifteen-minute animated segment, the work of political illustrator Gerald Scarfe, a cult sci-fi HEAVY METAL (1981) by GERALD POTTERTON in which the images of violence, nudity and sex are following the music of bands such as Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Nazareth, Cheap Trick, DEVO, and Grand Funk.
