Animafest Scanner 2014 call for papers!
01/02/2014

Over the course of its forty-two-year history, Animafest Zagreb has given a stage to different animation forms and formats in competition and non-competition environments and has provided theoretical and historical point of view on animation through a variety of individual lectures. In 2002 the festival introduced the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Animation Studies, the only honour of its kind in the world of animation festivals, which is presented every two years during the short-film festival editions.

In order to create a synergy of theoretical and practical discourses as well as exchange between filmmakers and scholars, first Symposium for Contemporary Animation Studies ‘Animafest Scanner 2014’ will be held during the 2014 edition of Animafest Zagreb.

‘Animafest Scanner 2014’ will be held on 4 and 5 June 2014 and international film and media scholars are invited to present the newest findings in the field of animation studies. During the two-day event, ideas and thoughts will be exchanged with festival guests, filmmakers, organizers of other festivals, producers, professionals, and scholars. Animafest Scanner will be fully integrated into the festival and complemented by additional animation screenings, artists’ talks and exhibitions.
