Synopsis
A Holocaust survivor reads a letter he wrote to the pig who saved his life. A young schoolgirl hears his testimony in class and sinks into a twisted dream where she confronts questions of identity, collective trauma, and the extremes of human nature.
Tal Kantor (1988, Jerusalem) is an animation filmmaker and visual artist who graduated with honours from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem, where she teaches animation. In 2013 she attended an exchange programme at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago at the Film, Video, New Media and Animation Department. She was an Art director for the documentary feature film Advocate (directed by Philippe Bellaïche and Rachel Leah Jones), Oscars shortlisted and selected at Sundance Film Festival 2019. She is a curator of animation exhibitions and special screening programs, writer and editor at the Israeli animation magazine Moonfash. Currently she works on her next short animated film while working as an animation director and concept-art developer at several film projects.
