Life is difficult in the corner, in the angle where all edges meet. Everything is geometrically relative when laws of perspective and gravity start playing tricks on you.

Lucija Mrzljak

Lucija Mrzljak is a Croatian director and illustrator. She studied animated film in Zagreb, Krakow, Prague, and Tallinn. She has directed a series of award-winning films in collaboration with studios Eesti Joonisfilm and Adriatic Animation, and with Estonian director Morten Tšinakov: Demonstration of Brilliance in 4 Acts (2018), Stork (2020), and (2022), which premiered at the Berlinale and was shortlisted for the Oscars Academy Awards. In 2019, she directed the music video The Closing Door in collaboration with Irish musician Glen Hansard. She has lived between Zagreb and Tallinn for several years. She teaches at the Estonian Academy of Arts.
