Synopsis

Gustavus is a humorous character, "the little man", who reflects our views and behaviour in an amusing way. The series started in 1964 with 68 episodes, and then another 52 episodes in the 1970s. He became a familiar character in over seventy countries. Attila Dargay (1927-2009) worked in the Hungary's National Theatre as scenery painter, and started his animation career in 1957. Besides collaborating on the Gustavusseries, he directed several animated features such as Mattie the Goose-Boy(1977), Vuk(1981) and Szaffi(1985).
