ANIMATION AVANTGARDE & VIENNA INTEPENDENT SHORTS

Animation Avantgarde is a part of the international competition programmes at the film festival VIS Vienna Independent Shorts, which are programmatically connected to ASIFA Austria. Animation Avantgarde presents contemporary audio-visual art: innovative animation, experimental film, digital media and all kinds of hybrid forms, and wants to improve the dialogue between different positions and practices in art - from avant-garde to pop culture; from animation 
techniques based on drawings, paintings and objects to 2D and 3D computer animation, found footage, and many other experimental forms.
