Synopsis
Responding to the compositional and aesthetic qualities of abstract expressionism and cameraless animation, All Rotuses photographic reanimation to render the mundane environment of a decaying crazy golf course into a rapturous split-screen experiment in synaesthetic cinema.
German animation and new media artist Max Hattler holds an MA in Animation from the Royal College of Art and a Doctorate in Fine Art from the University of East London. His short films, animation installations and audiovisual performances challenge the spaces between abstraction and figuration, aesthetics and politics, sound and image, precision and improvisation.
